Thank you for your interest. Complete the information below to receive your free copy of "Optical Transmitter Jitter Measurement Basics."

Paper TitleWhile jitter is a familiar measurement in optical transmitter testing, it can be defined very differently depending on the context. We will compare and contrast the meanings for telecom standards such as SONET/SDH/OTN with those for enterprise and storage. We will explore eye diagram jitter compliance and the different philosophies behind bathtub jitter and the frequency banded jitter relied on in other standards. The implications for compliance and troubleshooting will be illustrated with measurement examples. This paper is based upon an e-seminar given by SyntheSys Research in January 2008 through Lightwave Magazine.
